New website coming to rezwest.org!
The Church of the Resurrection will launch a brand new website this week. For the past couple of years, the Communications and Internet Technology teams have been evaluating, researching, planning and developing a website for The Church of the Resurrection that will help us achieve our purpose of "Building a Christian Community where non and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians."
The new website was designed to meet two objectives. First, we want it to be visitor-friendly. We know that more and more people will check out our church on the website before they ever set foot on one of our locations. In addition, thousands of churches look to our sermons and ministries for ideas and inspiration. Secondly, we want to provide a way for you to easily explore and connect with hundreds of opportunities to worship, grow, serve, give and share on all of our campuses. The new site will also adapt to devices of various sizes - computers, tablets and phones.
Sometime this week, we will be launching the new website. All of the information from the old site will be moved over, but in a new, more easily navigated format.
The web address for all four campuses is nowwww.cor.org. When you visit the site, you will go to a landing page where you can select your campus. This simplifies our communication and reinforces our identity as one church in four locations. You can change campuses at any time by using the campus dropdown in the top left. If you know what type of info you are looking for on a specific campus, you can also use the menu at the bottom of the page.
Each campus home page has five sections:
Welcome and general information
Worship and sermon information
“Get Connected” – Upcoming events and program information
“Receive Care” – Pastor contacts, prayer requests, care classes and support groups
“Give Back” – Information on financial giving and opportunities to serve in local, national and global mission or at the church.
One of the unique features of this site is a faceted search function for programs and ministries. When you go to the “Programs” page, you can select your campus, the ministry and the program area and then search for a program that meets your needs.
When you select one of the program cards, you will go to a page like the one here, which will provide information about the program/ministry, upcoming events and activities and volunteer opportunities.
You can also go to an “Events” page, a “Staff” page and a “News” page and search by campus, ministry or date. And, if you are not sure where to start, you can search the entire sight by entering a key word. Simply click on the magnifying glass icon on the top right of every page to open the search function.
If you need help navigating the site or notice something that needs to be fixed, please use the help tab in the lower left hand corner of the page. For the next few weeks, someone will be available for live chat from 9 am – 5 pm, Sunday – Friday. At other times you can submit a message from this tab.
We are committed to providing excellent tools for outreach and ministry, and being good stewards of the church’s resources. As with any change, it may take a little time to become familiar with the new site, please be patient. We hope that you will explore www.cor.org and share it with friends who might be interested in learning more about Resurrection.
