At the core of this United Methodist Prayer Community is our commitment to pray for our leaders:

• The Active Members of the Council of Bishops
• The Retired Members of the Council of Bishops
• The Staff at each Annual Conference
• The Appointive Cabinet Members (District Superintendents and their Administrative Assistants)
• Our Pastors, Church Staff, and all who lead and serve in our local churches

Through prayer and faith in Jesus Christ, all things are possible. Without prayer and without the power of the Holy Spirit–we shall surely fail. As the founders of Methodism (John and Charles Wesley) said, “God does nothing apart from believing prayer.”
Praying with Bishop GoodpasterToday, in your own way and with your own words, pray for your leaders. Ask God to give each one the Holy Spirit power needed to love as Jesus loved, to go where Jesus went, and to do what Jesus did!
Then let your leaders know that you lifted them in prayer today. Nothing is more important than this, and we each have the power to do it. AMEN.
