Dear Friends,

The Lord is moving full steam ahead with His mission in Jean Rabel and we are excited to share some of the many developments from this past few months. Many of you have prayed diligently for this ministry and we want to thank you so much, the Lord has blessed us in so many ways. Also many thanks to those that have given of their time and money to help us reach those most in need in Haiti. We can not do this without your on going support through prayer and giving. We would love to hear from you if you have comments or would like us to come to your church and share about this ministry. God Bless You for your partnership and dedication to this ministry.

True Shepherd Ministries

Pastor Antony Duclos, leader of True Shepherd Ministries in Haiti.
Pastor Antony & Marietta Duclos had a special guest stay with them recently.
General Superintendent - Dr. Jerry Porter.
These True Shepherd Ministry leaders in Haiti (Thomas, Germa and Ricles) are a huge blessing to their communities, bringing faith and passion to their mission of transformation through the Gospel of Jesus.

Sheep Program Expands to Mahotiere

First Fruits Leaders, Thomas, Germa and Ricles.
We are very excited to share that the sheep program has expanded to another location. A few months ago we started across the valley in Bouflette, where we were able to give twenty animals away, then, at the Nazarene church in the community of Fond Latanier we gave another 14 animals. The program has moved onto the impoverished village of Mahotiere.
To recap the plan: We ask each Haitian church and its board to come up with names (families and individuals), who are in most need amongst their members. True Shepherd provides a female ewe to each of these families and they in turn will be trained to care and tend the animal. The first lamb will be given back to the church as the first fruits and an offering to God. The second lamb will be theirs to own, third back to the church, etc. Tomas and his assistant (Ericles Dorsin) will facilitate breeding with the ram and the male lambs will be sold.
In consultation with the District Superintendent we are prayerfully looking for our next Haitian church on the district to share this blessing with It. God willing we will extend this program across the region to all 60+ churches.
If you or your church is interested in joining us in raising funds for this Sheep Program click here and select "Sheep Program" from the drop down list. Each church of 15-20 animals costs approximately $2,000 or an individual sheep for a single family is $100, either way the impact is huge.
First Fruits - Mahotiere Haiti.

Mobile Clinic

Pastor Antony, Marietta and Nurse Mirlene are able, with your help to travel across the Jean Rabel region conducting mobile clinics, like this one in the remote town of Mahotiere. These clinics are a huge blessing to the communities they visit, where medical assistance can be non existent or unaffordable. People can walk hours to attend, looking for medical and spiritual help.
You can help Pastor Antony and his team perform more clinics like this, adding feet to God's love and helping those in most need. There are several ways to help and as you can see from the photo, transport is a motorcycle, sometimes the journey can be 2-3 hours each way. We are close to our goal of raising $18k for a truck but are still $2-3k short. Also, just $50-$100 buys much needed medication for the clinic. Each clinic costs approximately $300 and can help as many as 100 people.

Children's Program

One of the many blessings of having Marietta Duclos as a missionary to Jean Rabel is that she is able to pass on her great knowledge and passion of our awesome God to the next generation. Marietta along with Germa Brutus are able to invest and pour into the children of Bouflette, teaching them about Jesus. This has lasting impact and can change the course of a child's life forever.

Adult Training School

The adult training school is almost ready to begin classes. True Shepherd has been able to provide $3,000 to purchase many laptops, sewing machines and furniture (chairs, desks, etc) for the upcoming classes. It is very exciting and many across the district are hoping to attend. Each student will pay $12 per month to help with costs but more funding is needed in the future and we pray the Lord will provide for this incredible opportunity. These classes can be a simple stepping stone to a brighter future, having a skill can give you an edge when it comes to finding work or starting a small business.
If you would like to provide a scholarship for someone to attend this school, perhaps for 3 months, that would be $36 plus something for food and lodging, perhaps $100 total. This will transform a persons life forever (along with their family) giving them the ability to provide for themselves.

The Ti Kris Story

Ti Kris was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. At the age of 3, his mom, who did not want to keep him, dropped him at a stranger's house. She told the women that she was going to buy him milk at the store and that she would be right back. She never came back for him and the next day the stranger went to the police station to report the incident. The woman was advised to wait until the mom comes back, but if not, she needed to keep Ti Kris.
After a few months, the stranger who was already busy with her own children, decided to send Ti Kris to live with her friend in the Jean-Rabel area. Although Ti Kris was welcomed in Jean-Rabel, his living conditions were very poor. He was able to go to school but because of his bad attitude he was always rejected and considered a danger to the community.
He was so rejected by people that he slept outside most of the time. He was left in the streets and was struggling to find food because he was considered of little value, much like a feral dog. At this point he was not welcomed into anyone's home, nor to school. He had no choice but to steal to survive.
Last year, as Marietta and Antony were working at the Bouflette site, he came by and they questioned him about why he was not in school. They invited him to come back the next day and he was given clothes & food. They prayed with him and he was willing to come back to help. Now Ti Kris is 14 and he is in school, in church services, and he is one of our hardest workers & helpers!
We are now praying for his success & looking for a sponsor for him.
May God bless him!

Endowment Fund - Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Did you know that True Shepherd is working to build an endowment for long-term sustainability? We believe that it’s important to plan for the long-term future of this partnership. Some generous individuals have helped us begin an endowment that will release funds into ministry for years to come. If God has laid our ministry on your heart, would you pray about helping us build our endowment? A gift of any size can help build our endowment to our initial goal of $10,000. We’re about half way there, and are trusting God to help bring the right people along to create a solid foundation for True Shepherd’s future.
If God has placed this ministry on your heart, please contact us directly, or contact Jon Twitchell, Vice President of Gift Planning at the Nazarene Foundation, at jtwitchell@nazarenefoundation.org or 207-318-3515.
