Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
I hope this message finds you well on this Friday morning. Our sanctuary is being transformed right now into Candy Land for our first ever Daddy/Daughter Dance tonight at 6:30 pm. We have over 70 daughters, dads, grandpas and big brothers signed up so far. The candy corsages and boutonnieres are ready and the DJ, photo booth and desserts will arrive later today. It is going to be a wonderful evening of fun and a time for creating some special memories. If you haven’t had a chance to sign up, it is not too late to join the festivities or invite a neighbor or friend and his daughters or granddaughters to come along too. Tickets will be sold at the door tonight.
I want to make sure that you have January 26th marked on your calendars for this year's All Church Gathering. In addition to important updates from Pastor Adam on ministry priorities for the coming year, we will kick off a year-long visioning process that will identify specific ways our church will have deep impact in the next decade and beyond. Through Vision 2030, we will elevate a handful of dramatic goals for our future— areas where God is calling us to focus our resources and leadership for long-term impact.
We’ll begin the work of creating the vision on this night and it’s very important that our Blue Springs campus voices are included with all the others, especially the voices of our leaders. This is a don’t-miss event for our leadership! The gathering will be held this year at our Leawood campus at 6:30 pm in the main sanctuary. I hope to see you there!
This Sunday we continue our series on Christianity and World Religions. This week we’ll take a look at Buddhism. We’ll learn how and when this faith developed, explore some of its essential beliefs and how these beliefs compare with our Christian understanding. Be sure to invite a friend or neighbor to join us this Sunday.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Penny
