FATHER’S DAY
A prayer by Bishop Jimmy Nunn, Oklahoma Indian Mission Conference, leading the United Methodist Church in “Praying Our Way Forward” for the week of June 18-June 24, 2017.
Blow across your world, Spirit of God. Blow open our doors, our minds, and our hearts that we may be refreshed by the breezes of the Spirit. Blow open our windows, our emotions, and our souls that we may be renewed by the zephyrs of life. Blow open our mouths so that we may proclaim good news to the poor and recovering of sight to the blind. Blow ajar our lips that we may announce release to the captive and to set at liberty the oppressed. Blow across your world, Spirit of God.
Blow, Spirit of God across the face of the deep in your church. Blow through those who constitute the Commission on the Way Forward that they might find a path through the tempest. Blow away the fog that we might see the skies. Blow away the clouds that we might see the heavens. Blow, Spirit of God across the face of the deep in your church. Blow across your world, Spirit of God.
