X-CITING WORSHIP


Game of Zones. Dr. Emanuel Cleaver III continues his sermon series with "Comfort Zone" - 2 Kings 11:19, Sunday, June 25, @ 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Paseo Campus and 10 a.m. Renaissance Campus worship services.

Wednesday Night Live.  Join us Wednesday, June 287 p.m. in the Ministry Mall for our continuing exploration of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations.  Led by Dr. 3 and the Pastoral Team, we wrestle with what the Bible says, the cultural context, people, places of the time and what it means for us today.  Please read Exodus 35-40, for next week's study.

FAITH DEVELOPMENT
Sunday School.  There are three adult Sunday school classes offered this summer at St. James UMC. The classes are the Women's Sunday school class, The Mixed Adult's Sunday school class, and the Men's Sunday school class.

New Member Orientation.  Will be held on July 8, 9:30 a.m. here at the Paseo Campus.
 
Senior Fitness & Bible Study.  Join us at the Paseo Campus every Wednesday from 11-11:30 a.m. for light to moderate exercise done from the comfort of a chair!  A trained fitness expert will guide you through exercises that help strengthen you, and the fellowship will help motivate you.  Then, stay for Bible Study from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and get strengthened in the spirit!  Feel free to bring a dish and join us in the potluck lunch following our study time.

Bible Study at Renaissance.  Join us Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for Bible study at the Renaissance Campus.  There is food, fellowship and the Word.  Come out and grow with your church family!

Prayer Time.  Continue with us in prayer every Tuesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. on the prayer line 530-881-1212, code 293680996.

Prayer Class.  Learn to build your prayer skills and deepen your faith development with Helen Walker every 4th Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Vaughan Chapel.  The next class is Sunday, June 25th.

Gibson, brother-in-law of Gloria Stephens; and Garland Lewis, brother of Anna Norris.

GriefShare.  No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process.  The St. James GirefShare Support Ministry provides help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend and in a safe and confidential place that helps to put lives back together again.  We will walk with you on the path through grief toward healing and hope for the future. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives.  GriefShare is comprised of a video seminar series that features some of the nation's foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective coupled with support group discussions of these presentations.   GriefShare Support Group sessions will be hosted every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for 12 weeks beginning August 24, 2017.  You may contact Rosalyn Wilson at 816-753-5998 or at wgmn1969@att.net for additional information or to express a desire to participate.  We look forward to your participation.
 
Compassionate Care.  When you experience illness, the death of a loved one or if you would like prayer, we want to know so that we may provide compassion, encouragement and comfort during life's challenges.  Please let us know by calling the church office at 816-444-5588 or, after hours, the Care on Call phone at 816-286-6048.

WORSHIP MINISTRIES
Acolytes Needed.  Children ages 4-12 are welcome to serve during our worship celebrations.  Contacts: Angela Baker (8 a.m.) at abswac@gmail.com or Risë Cockerm (11 a.m.) at rise289@gmail.com.

Little Vessel Ushers and Youth Ushers.  Children ages 5-11 and youth ages 12-18 serve as ushers every 3rd Sunday during 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship.  No experience needed - on the job training is provided.  The uniform is a white button down shirt and black slacks or skirt.  Contact Brenda Sylvan (children) at 816-942-4258 or Connie Frazier (youth) at 816-363-3468.

CONNECTING MINISTRIES

Connectors Needed. As most are aware the Welcome Center at the Paseo entrance has been operating since February, you can complete a number of vital tasks at the center.  You can pay your tithes, locate a number of activities to serve.  Next door in the hallway are refreshments provided by our Hebrews Ministry.  We are missing YOU, please consider volunteering one Sunday a month at 8:00 or 11:00 a.m. worship to assist at the center.  A signup sheet is available or you can contact the church office. Thank you for your ministry agreeing to serve:

NEXT GENERATION MINISTRIES


Senior Recognition. Hebrews Fellowship will celebrate our youth graduates from high school and college.  The Fellowship will be sponsored by Jacqueline and Jarrett Dillard.  It will take place in the Ministry Mall June 25, 2017 between the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.  God has blessed this community with so many wonderful young people who are graduating. 

Next Gen Camp/VBS.  St. James UMC Paseo campus will host Next Gen Camp/VBS, TonightFriday, June 23We will serve dinner starting at 5 p.m. tonight.  Come join us!

Next Generation Weekend.  Come celebrate the work God is doing in the lives our young people. Be Part of Next Generation Weekend, June 24-25, 2017.  Saturday, June 24, we will have field day at the Renaissance Campus 1-3 p.m.lunch will be served. We will play putt-putt golf, dodgeball, volleyball, tug-of-war and lots of other exciting games and activities.  All are welcome. Spark Mini-Mobile is a weekend camp filled with a ton of fun activities, Bible study, and worship/dance party time. Cleaver Senior Living Community.  The 40 Acres Team continues to provide monthly project updates on the 1st Tuesday of each month, due to Independence Day holiday, the next meeting will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 6 p.m.  Contact Sam Coleman, Sr. at samcoleman@sbcglobal.net for more information.
