Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you well on a rather cloudy Friday in Kansas City. Wendy and I have taken a good portion of the week off, staying at home to do some projects around the house getting ready for the baby in June! It was great to get some time off to focus on an entirely different kind of work. That said, I’m really excited to get back to church this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be continuing our sermon series on “Why?” and God’s will for your life. Invite friends and be sure to join us this weekend. In addition to worship this weekend, we’ll be hosting Coffee With the Pastors on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm. CWP is an opportunity to learn more about the church, it’s pastors, our RezDowntown story and what it means to become a member of this church. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to join us and if you have children, we will have childcare available for you as well.
Lastly, I am excited to share that we are hosting a great event on Saturday morning. From 9am to 11am, we’ll be hosting a discussion on The Internet and Sexuality. We’ll be talking about why there’s a problem and how we can be a part of the solution. Our church wants to be the kind of church that is brave enough to talk about the tough stuff. So, we have asked Sherry Danner, a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist, to help us learn more. We hope all concerned community members will join us in this conversation so that we can be a part of the solution God wants for Kansas City. This event is appropriate for those 18 and over only, but I hope you’ll be able to join us. It’s going to be a great weekend!

Our church wants to be the kind of church that is brave enough to talk about it. At this informational gathering, you’ll learn more about the church, get to know Pastors Scott Chrostek, Todd Maberry and Anne Williams, and review expectations regarding membership. Young Adult Worship Music Devotionals – Starting Wednesday, April 29, 7-8:30 pm, join Megan O’Neill and other young adults (ages 20-ish to 35-ish) for a 5-week look into worship songs and how we may be inspired by them. We will hear from Kari Jobe, Phil Wickham, Bethel Music and RezDowntown’s very own Glory Revival. Class will be at 1522 McGee in the loft. Contact Megan O’Neill at mego614@gmail.com with questions.
