Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
This is a big weekend for our congregation. Saturday we're hosting our first Mega Faithwork. We're gathering at the church at 8 am for a pancake breakfast and then dispersing for the rest of the morning to serve. We have several different projects to choose from, which are listed below, that will all benefit our community. We even have projects designed for kids at the church so everyone will have an opportunity to participate. If you have ideas for other places or projects where we can serve or partner for the good of our community, please let us know. We're always looking for ways we can best serve. I hope you'll roll up your sleeves and join us for the morning.
Sunday we'll be offering a different way to serve with Compassion International sponsorships available following worship. If you can't manage the time right now to serve with your hands or are physically unable to, Compassion International offers a way to help a child living in poverty with their basic needs. Our kids, and you too, will get a chance to see how some of these children live as there will be a simulated living quarters on the lawn for them to view. More information and sponsorships will be available following worship.
We'll also be continuing our "Why" sermon series by diving into the will of God. Asking questions like, "Why does it seem so hard to figure it out? How does God lead us and how can we be open to discerning our paths." Perhaps you know someone you could help get started on their path by inviting them to come worship with us?
In addition to worship this weekend, we’ll be hosting Pizza With the Pastors following the 10:45 service. PWP is an opportunity to learn more about the church, it’s pastors, our Resurrection Blue Springs story and what it means to become a member of this church. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to join us and if you have children, we will have childcare available for you as well. Please see the registration information below so that we'll have an idea of how much pizza to order.
In the meantime, here's a look at what's coming up:
Collecting Clear Glass Bud Vases We are collecting clear glass bud vases for the teachers at Wendell Phillips. If you have one about your house that you can part with, please donate them this week to the church. We’ll fill them with beautiful flowers for the teachers.
Our First "Mega" FaithWork – Saturday, April 25 We’ll start by fueling up with a pancake breakfast at 8 am. Then at 9 am, we’ll go out
and serve at various locations. On-site opportunities will be available for kids to serve also. So come, have breakfast, make a difference and get a free #Serve water bottle! Sign up at rezbluesprings.org/faithwork.

Sponsor a Child with Compassion International - Did you know that today 67 million children between ages 5 and 11 can't attend school? As a Compassion child sponsor, you can make it possible for a child living in poverty to be able to get an education. Change the life of a boy or girl in Asia, Africa, Central America/the Caribbean or South America through your prayers, letters and support. Your sponsorship helps provide health care, education, supplemental food and connection with a church community.
The Internet and Sexuality: Why It's a Problem and How to be Part of the Solution - Saturday, April 25, 9-11 am Parents, did you know the average age of exposure to internet pornography is 11? Easy access to the Internet has created a pornography addiction epidemic and our church wants to be the kind of church that is brave enough to talk about it. We have crafted this presentation with parents in mind. Resurrection’s Sherry Danner, Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist, will help us learn more. And we have invited a speaker who will be offering a segment specifically for parents of students. We invite all concerned community members to join this conversation and be a part of the solution God wants for Kansas City. Appropriate for those 18 and over only. For more information or to register for childcare visit www.rezdowntown.org/solution. Resurrection Downtown - 1522 McGee, KC, MO
