Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, 26 May 2017 - The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Hi RezDowntowners,
The moment is finally here: this weekend, Memorial Day Weekend,
my wife, Wendy, and I will be preaching a message together on enriching relationships.  It should be a great adventure for us to lead in this way, one that I am personally looking forward to with great excitement (mixed with a little bit of fear and trepidation as well)!  I am excited for you and your friends to join us this holiday weekend as we conclude our series on The Birds and The Bees with light hearts!  This weekend is also going to be a FAMILY WORSHIP WEEKEND, which means the whole family is invited, kids and all. We'll have special moments in worship for our kids and families as kids will lead, read and serve in worship services all weekend long. We'll also have fun activity books for every kid in attendance. Come on out with the whole family and enjoy a great start to the summer at RezDowntown! Finally, at our 9 am worship service we'll also commission our mission team leaving for Honduras starting June 3. Be sure to check our Facebook page beginning June 4 for daily updates on their work with our friends in Honduras! There has been a lot of progress on our construction site this week.  Crews are working steadily to finish up our water detention system and it has been great fun to see people at work every day preparing our site for the new building!  In order to stay up to date on things, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rezdowntown.  Kelly and I posted our second construction update yesterday.  Check it out and share it on your pages!
In the meantime, you'll find a variety of ways below to get connected over the next several weeks.  Be sure to take a look...

Travel to the Holy Land with Pastor Scott.  On November 8-17 Pastor Scott will lead a spiritual journey of a lifetime to the Holy Land.  On this pilgrimage you’ll have a chance to retrace the life and walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. You’ll have a chance to visit the cities and sites we read about in the Bible. It is something we recommend everybody experiences if at all possible.  For more information visit Connection Point this weekend to pick up an informational brochure before or after worship. To register or for more info, visit cor.org/downtown/events.
Have a great Friday, Happy Memorial Day Weekend and I am looking forward to seeing you this weekend in worship!
Many blessings and God's Peace,
Scott
