Resurrection West,
Good morning! Sunday we continue this series about the parables of Jesus as we celebrate dad. Get there early for a fun prelude parody video followed by engaging praise music and a time of reflection and gratitude as we share then many photos you sent in of ’fathers in action”. I’ll be preaching on ‘The Lost Parables’ from Luke 15. Bishop J.C. Ryle said, “There is probably no chapter in the Bible that has done greater good for our souls”. I also look forward to sharing some great interview footage we captured from a few of our fathers & grandfathers here at RezWest helping to shed some light on fatherhood and the parable of the lost (or prodigal) son.
Last Sunday we put forth a ‘kingdom party invitation' and hope to sponsor three parties in memory of Scarlett Thompson. Please consider what party you might throw and reach out to receive one of the sponsorships. In memory of Scarlett, we will provide $333 toward your ‘kingdom party’. You can host a backyard bouncy-house neighborhood party for kids, a dinner party with your co-workers, a surprise party, nursing home party, back-to-school party, or whatever you imagine. The only guideline is that you reach out to people to connect in community and share Christ's love. Through the building of relationships we will have an opportunity to live out our faith of loving our neighbor and community in Jesus’ name. If interested, just reply to this email or email me directly at jason.gant@cor.org. I look forward to supporting your desire to share joy of the kingdom in your circle of influence!
We have a couple of summer event save the dates for you:
Save the Date for a RezWest Movie Night on July 14th at 6:30pm. We will all have a vote on the movie coming up on Sunday, July 2nd, announcing the winning movie on July 9th. So save the date for a family-friendly movie night. More to come!
Save the Date for the RezWest Lake Worship Event on August 6th. On that afternoon we will gather together at Kill Creek Park beach for some swim time fun, followed by worship on the beach (we will move our evening service to the beach that Sunday) and share in a moving baptism service together. We already have a few registered to be baptized in Kill Creek lake and maybe you, or members of your family, are also ready to receive baptism. You can pre-register for baptism by going to cor.org/west/baptisms. When you are completing the online form and it comes to the date and service time request, simply write in ‘August 6th lake baptism’. This will certainly be a memorable and exciting night together and a great night to invite a friend!

Finally, this Sunday we have a large group of high school students heading out, led by Rick Webb - youth pastor, and volunteer leaders to serve God on mission in Calhan, Colorado. Please pray for their efforts this coming week as they share the light and life of Christ!
And if you can also pray about serving with our Sports Camp week coming up June 26-30. Sports Camp happens in the morning with VBC (over 260 kids registered already) in the afternoon. We are in need of a few volunteers to serve our children at Sports Camp in the morning. Right now there are currently 100 children signed up for sports camp mornings and we’ve had to begin a waiting list until we find enough volunteer leaders to open up the waiting list so they can attend. The ratio of adults to children is critical for safety and quality in the program. We are really in need of an additional Kindergarten volunteer leader to serve for 2 mornings for basketball and another leader to serve 2 mornings for soccer. No experience is necessary and we will equip you with all you need to succeed in serving. We have so many kids who are counting down the days to Sports Camp so please pray about responding to this call to shape a generation for Christ! Interested in serving, contact David Robertson at david.robertson@cor.org
Looking forward to worship on Sunday,
