Mark 14:32 They went to a place called Gat Sh’manim; and Yeshua said to his talmidim, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took with him Kefa, Ya‘akov and Yochanan. Great distress and anguish came over him; 34 and he said to them, “My heart is so filled with sadness that I could die! Remain here and stay awake.” 35 Going on a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that if possible, the hour might pass from him: 36 “Abba!” (that is, “Dear Father!”) “All things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me! Still, not what I want, but what you want.” 37 He came and found them sleeping; and he said to Kefa, “Shim‘on, are you asleep? Couldn’t you stay awake one hour? 38 Stay awake, and pray that you will not be put to the test — the spirit indeed is eager, but human nature is weak.”
39 Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words; 40 and again he came and found them sleeping, their eyes were so very heavy; and they didn’t know what to answer him.
41 The third time, he came and said to them, “For now, go on sleeping, take your rest. . . .There, that’s enough! The time has come! Look! The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners!

Tough times had been our companion for over a month: malaria, staph infections, surgery, parasites, and worms. We were physically exhausted. A friend called early in the morning and asked how I could bless him that day. I rolled my eyes and quickly replied that I couldn’t bless him, but I sure could use him. That, he said, was the blessing he had in mind. My husband’s plane was scheduled to arrive in a few hours and I didn’t have enough energy to drive to the airport. Later that afternoon, he dropped Greg off at our door, along with some food for dinner. He was a friend in deed and in spirit.
No one ever said life would be “easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.” In fact, we can expect tough times. In the family of God, we need not face them alone. Just as Jesus asked for the disciples to be with Him in Gethsemane, we should depend on one another. We can pray. We can lend an ear. We can be present in so many ways. Who can bless you today? Who can you bless today?
Hymn for Today:
"I'll Go Where You want Me to Go" by Charles E. Prior
1. It may not be on the mountain’s height,
Or over the stormy sea;
It may not be at the battle’s front
My Lord will have need of me.
But if by a still, small voice He calls
To paths I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
"I’ll go where You want me to go."
Refrain: I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.
2. Perhaps today there are loving words
Which Jesus would have me speak;
There may be now, in the paths of sin,
Some wand’rer whom I should seek.
O Savior, if Thou wilt be my Guide,
Tho' dark and rugged the way,
My voice shall echo the message sweet,
I’ll say what you want me to say.
Refrain: I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.
3. There’s surely somewhere a lowly place
In earth’s harvest fields so wide
Where I may labor thro' life’s short day
For Jesus, the Crucified;
So, trusting my all to Thy tender care,
And knowing Thou lovest me,
I’ll do Thy will with a heart sincere,
I’ll be what You want me to be.
Refrain: I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.
Thought for Today:
Bear one another’s burdens — in this way you will be fulfilling the Torah’s true meaning, which the Messiah upholds.(Galatians 6:2}
Please pray:
That many people in Martinique will come to know Yeshua the Messiah and receive the fullness of the Ruach HaKodesh.
