The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Blue Springs in Blue Springs, Missouri, United States for Friday, 27 October 2017 "Pastor Penny Ellwood's Enote"
Friday, October 27, 2017
Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
It appears that fall has arrived in time for our Trunk and Treat this Sunday! We’re anticipating a large crowd and are thrilled so many of you responded with the need for decorated trunks. I am grateful for your commitment to the children of our community.
This year we’re having all trunks and activities in the back northeast section of our parking lot to free up more spaces for parking and to create a safe space for the kids. We will have all the trunks park around the outside edge of that section. We expect to have 30-40 trunks (YAY!!). If you are planning to bring up a trunk, please plan to have it in place by 3:30 pm and use only one parking space.
We’ll have games, a huge bounce house, a photo booth for capturing the costumes, a fire truck and hot dogs and chips. If you’d be willing to lend a hand, contact Diane Enlow via email, check in at the KiDSCOR desk on Sunday morning or click here. There are places to serve yet. If you have candy or cupcakes for the cake walk, these can be dropped off at KiDSCOR on Sunday or just before the event. Bring your friends and neighbors and plan to join us for the fun. Your very presence to help welcome our guests is a crucial element of a successful event. So come on up to say hello and see the creativity in the costumes and trunks. The event will run from 4 - 6 pm.
I heard many comments after last weekends worship about how much you enjoyed the start of our sermon series on The Reformation and seeing the locations in Rome where it all began. This Sunday Pastor Adam will take us to Germany where Martin Luther officially nailed the Ninety-Five Theses to the church doors 500 years ago. We will visit important locations in Martin Luther’s story, and learn about his struggle with the church and finding grace and how his insights impact and inform our faith to this day.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
Pastor Penny
