Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, December 29, 2017 The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City Missouri United States
Greetings, RezDowntowners!
Good Friday morning to each of you, on this, the last Friday of 2017. What a great year it has been. I have spent a lot of my time this week (as I've been preparing for this weekend's sermon) by reflecting over the past year and remembering all that God has done. I've also spent a fair amount of time thinking about how I want to make the most of the year ahead. The new year brings opportunities for new beginnings, transformation, setting goals and all sorts of possibilities. It's a time for resetting and reflecting on how we can grow and flourish and how we might better live into God's call to reflect the light of Christ to the world around us. I hope you'll take some time this weekend to remember and reflect over 2017, but also to dream about the future, and how God might be calling you to transform your life.
This weekend in worship, I'll preach live downtown on Saturday night at 5:10 pm, December 30. I will also preach on Sunday morning at our services at 1522 McGee at 9:00 and 10:45 am, and at 1508 Grand at 10:45 am. We will not host our 5:00 pm worship service on Sunday evening. I hope you'll join me as we ponder God's transformative power and dream about the future that God has in store for us as individuals, but also as a church as we look ahead to the new year! Invite friends and bring this year to a great and fitting conclusion by experiencing God's power and presence in worship. I can't wait to see you, no matter how cold it is outside!
Happy New Year!
Pastor Scott
