Free Family Movie Nights in the Park
The Jungle Book // August 22nd @ Sunset
We're nearing NHUMC's final Movie Night of the Summer! The Normal Heights United Methodist Church and the Normal Heights Community Association are bringing you twomovies a month in the park all Summer long. This is a great opportunity to get out, join your neighbors, enjoy your local parks and have a fun, free evening under the stars. The Community Association will be hosting a showing of The Princess Bride in Ward Canyon Park on August 15th, while we host The Jungle Book on August 22nd, starting at sunset in Adams Park. Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket, food and a friend.. and of course, the evening wouldn’t be complete without an intermission dance party! Youth Lock In
August 22nd - 23rd // 6:30p - 11:30a
We’re having a Youth Lock In for kids entering 5th-8th grade! First, there will be dinner and a movie in the park starting at 6:30pm on the 22nd. After the movie, we’ll head to church for games, dessert and lots of laughs! The lock in ends at 11:30am on Sunday, the 23rd. Breakfast will also be included. Please RSVP to Alisa at office@nhunited.org byAug. 16th.
Don’t Forget to Bring: a sleeping bag, pillow, PJ's, personal toiletries, a change of clothes, and a sleeping mat if you have one
VBS Pancake Celebration
Sunday, August 9th // 8:30a - 9:45a
Join us on the Second Sunday of August for a free pancake breakfast! Take the hassle out of your Sunday morning, and let us feed your family. Come to serve, talk or eat!During this Pancake Breakfast, we'll enjoy a small presentation put on by the kids from our Vacation Bible School Camp. They will be singing a few songs and sharing what they learned at camp! Feel free to stick around and check out our Sunday School & Worship Service afterwards. If you’d like to help out with these breakfasts during any month, just email Brent at brent@nhunited.org!
Free Play Playgroups
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

There are no playgroups from 8/1 - 8/10
Starting August 11th, we will have open play in our play room three times a week as an option to get out of the heat, but still get out of the house, play, and meet friends. Come and go as you please. All children under 5 and their caregivers are welcome.
Share your thoughts! We are thinking about how to structure our playgroups for the Fall. Give us your input on what you would like to participate in. If you haven't joined "Normal Heights Babies, Toddlers, and Families" on meetup.com, please do to get the most current information on playgroups, events, and park meetups in Normal Heights.

Faith on Tap
4th Thursdays // August 27th

Faith on Tap is a monthly event in Normal Heights, where we participate in casual theological discussions over a pint of local beers and munchies. It’s a great place to meet people in the community, and to bring your friends! If you’d like directions or more info, please emailPastor Brent. Everyone is welcome at this event!

Adults and children of all ages gather in the sanctuary for a time of worship that is about praising God, but also about helping each other to see the sacred in the ordinary parts of life the rest of the week. Activities are in the sanctuary for children, but childcare is available in the nursery for little ones who need it.
Free lunch for all under 18

Nature Camp from Outdoor Adventures

Flag Football Sign-ups

Normal Heights' 10th Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand

Normal Heights' 10th Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand (for pediatric cancer research) will be held on the corner of 35th Street and North Mountain View Drive on August 30th! If you cannot attend, and are interested in donating online, please visit this website to make a donation!
Adams Avenue Street Fair is Coming Up!
September 26 & 27
This Street Fair is one of the largest FREE music street fairs in California. There will be over 100 live music acts on 8 stages, four beer gardens, giant Carnival rides and 300 craft & food vendors.
