Pray for Pastors Globally
~ The emphasis of "International Ministry, Bible Schools and Seminaries" has three components. Most people think of the education aspect; however, those in ministry should not be forgotten. As you intercede for the pastoral staff of your own church, remember those people globally who are ministering in a variety of settings.
As ordinary people, pastors are fallible and must consistently pursue the character God requires of them, as well as faithfully completing the many duties attached to their roles. Knowing that others are praying is an encouragement to the heart of a person who longs to give his or her best to God!
Pray for their personal needs as well as for their spiritual needs.
"Developing Leaders" by Stan Toler
4 LEADERSHIP MISTAKES YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF
Discover the Power of Selfless Leadership
The best leaders know that their achievement does not depend on someone else's failure. Success is not a zero-sum game. There is more than enough to go around.
Not every leader knows that, however. Some are convinced that every advantage they gain must come at someone else's expense. Intimidation, manipulation, withholding information: these are the sure signs of a small-minded leader-usually with a very large ego.
No team will follow a selfish leader for long. The team may establish a good work regimen and perform well, but unless the members respect their leader, it will not excel.
Sadly, people are seldom aware of their own selfishness. You could be trapped in behaviors that undercut your ability to lead-without realizing it. Here are four leadership errors that result from over-focus on self. See if any sound familiar.
Mistake 1: Insisting on Getting Credit for What You Do
The best leaders don't care who gets the credit as long as the job gets done. If you find yourself thinking, "Hey, that was my idea," you could be stuck in a scarcity mind-set. Break that by celebrating the achievements of others-even when you're partly responsible for them.
Mistake 2: Putting Personal Agenda before Mission.
This is closely related to mistake number one; both stem from a desire for self-advancement. If you pick projects or allocate resources based on how it will affect your career, you may be stuck in this trap. Break free by keeping the mission, vision, and objectives of the organization paramount.
Mistake 3: Holding a Grudge
Small minded people hold grudges; big people forgive and forget. If you find yourself nursing insults and look for opportunities to even the score, you're undercutting your ability to lead. Fix that by rising above small insults. Earn respect, but never demand it.
Mistake 4: Being Jealous of the Achievements of Others
Selfish leaders are jealous of the achievements of others because they believe another's success must indicate their failure. Excellent leaders realize that they themselves can never accomplish all they dream; others must help carry out the vision. So they invest in others, encourage them, train them, and enable them to succeed. The best leaders realize that there's plenty of success to go around, and they help those around them succeed.
Enjoying great success does not depend on having a big ego. In fact, the opposite is almost always true. Those who think the most of themselves are usually respected little by others. Great leaders are humble, self-less, and put others ahead of themselves.
Does that describe you

Asia-Pacific storms update- Shanghai bracing for possibly strongest storm on record!
Asia-Pacific Region
The World Mission Communications Office in Manila has been experiencing heavy rainfall this pas week as the Pacific keeps generating and sending tropical storms westward! It has truly been a period of "umbrellas required!"
While we are praising God that Category 4, Typhoon Chan-hom shifted course to the north and "threaded the needle" between Taiwan and Japan, there is major concern as this storm moves westward toward China.

SEEKING SAFETY FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN MIDDLE EAST – NCM RESPONDING – NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries: Right now, a large group of Christian families from the Middle East, 159 people in all, are stranded after fleeing their homes for fear of being killed.
In certain areas of the Middle East, thousands of families are fleeing from areas where Christians are being targeted and where militants are taking over villages.
A country in Europe has agreed to accept them, but the families are currently stuck in transit due to delays in the visa process. These delays have dramatically increased the costs of food and housing, so the Church of the Nazarene, through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, is working to raise the money needed to sustain these families until they can move on to safety.

Local Nazarene churches in the Middle East have been helping persecuted families for years through children’s education and other assistance, but this crisis is too big for them to meet alone.
“We are at a loss,” a local pastor said. “The only thing we know to do is to reach out to our Nazarene family around the world for help.”
A single mother of two boys tells how fighters frequently lobbed shells into their neighborhood to kill civilians and scare survivors. She showed pictures of the results of a bomb that went through her roof.
These families have left everything behind. They have no money, but they are hopeful for a new start in another country. One woman shared, “It is not easy to leave my country behind, but I have faith that God has opened this door, so I will walk through it.”
Will you give now to help get persecuted Christians to safety?

New book released by APNTS Dean of Students- Dr. Grant Zweigle!
Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary
Evangelism is worth reimagining. For many people today, evangelism is an embarrassing word associated with arguments, coercion, pressure techniques and salesmanship. But in the New Testament, to practice evangelism is to invite people into the joy-filled, captive-liberating, hope-inspiring, and world-transforming Kingdom of God through discipleship to Jesus Christ.
In his new book, Worship, Wonder, and Way, Grant Zweigle invites the reader to reimagine evangelism as a set of loving, personal practices emerging from within the context of a hospitable Christian congregation that Worships God the Father; experiences the Wonder of the Holy Spirit; and walks in the Way of Jesus Christ.
