Ongoing Discussion of Public Feeding
Come to our monthly meeting this Thursday, July 9. We will have a time of fellowship and lunch from 11:30 to Noon and then meet from Noon to 1pm. At this meeting we will hear from a number of members who will share what is happening at their churches or ministries. We will also hear from partners in ministry, If you have something to share, please bring it!
Last month, the subject of public feeding of the homeless was in the spotlight as the Rock Church announced that they would discontinue serving food to the homeless on the street. Instead they are encouraging their volunteers to partner and serve at St. Vincent De Paul. While the Downtown Fellowship supports this partnership model, we also believe that some form of street outreach to the homeless needs to continue. Come and let's continue the dialog.
