Upcoming Events
Preparing our hearts for...Sunday, July 5, 2015
9:15am - Sunday School classes for all ages
10:45am - Worship Service
This Sunday, Pastor Brad Estep will be preaching over 2 Corinthians 12: 2-10. Our children will remain in the sanctuary for family worship.
There will be no regular evening service
Our church building will be closed this Friday, July 3.
News & Events
NYC Collection
In the next week, 13 of our teens will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky for Nazarene Youth Conference, a national gathering of Nazarene teenagers that occurs every four years. While they are at NYC, they will be partnering with Bundles of Hope, an organization that resources homeless mothers and children in the Louisville area. They have been asked to bring supplies for the care packages they will be assembling. Would you begin considering what you could donate to help with this project?
Over the next week, there will be bins in the sanctuary foyer for the following items:
- Diapers (newborn through size 6)
- Training Pants (2T-4T)
- Underwear (S-XL)
- Hygiene items (shampoo, baby lotion, creams, etc.)
- Diaper wipes
- Formula
- Diaper Bags
- Blankets
- Clothes (onesies, outfits, hats)
- Pacifiers
- Eating supplies (bottles, Sippy cups, silverware, plates, bowls, formula holders, etc.)
- Medical Items (thermometer, snot bulb, etc.)
- Toys
Tour of the Kansas City Rescue Mission

PrimeTime is sponsoring a trip to tour the KCRM facilities, both the men's and the women's centers on Tuesday,July 21st.We will leave the church with the people mover at 10:30am and return by 2:00pm. We will have lunch with the rescue mission staff. There is no cost for this event, but a donation will be requested toward the lunch. Sign-up tables will be in the foyer on July 12 and 19.
Guest Preachers in July
Pastor Estep will be part of the Work & Witness team to Alaska over the next couple of weeks. In his absence, on Sunday, July 12, we will be privileged to have Dr. Carla Sunberg, President of Nazarene Theological Seminary preaching in our morning service. On Sunday morning, July 19, missionary Dr. Rod Reed, Academic Dean at Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya will be our guest preacher.
An Evening of Southern Gospel Music

Mark your calendars now for an evening of Southern gospel music, featuring our KCFC choir, on Sundayevening, July 19, at 6pm in the Westside Room! There will be pie and ice cream fellowship in the Westside foyer to follow.
Caring for the Caregiver
The final session of this pilot study will be this Sunday evening at 4:30pm in Room 158.
First Saturdays

On the first Saturday of every month, a group of women from First Church meets at the Panera at 103rd & State Line for a time of fun, fellowship, and food! The group will meet this Saturday,July 4, at 9am. Ladies of all ages are welcome!
District Shoe Drive

This summer, the Kansas City District Church of the Nazarene will be collecting used shoes at all of their district events. Shoes will be sent to developing countries, where they will be refurbished and given to those in need. We will have collection bins in the sanctuary foyer for shoe donations. Please bring all shoes by July 26, so that they may be taken to District Assembly.
Summer of Discovery
Kids in grades K-6 are invited to a Summer of Discovery, beginning this Wednesday, May 27! Every Wednesday night from 6:30pm-7:30pm, our kids will explore and discover different gifts and talents, as led by some of our very gifted church members. Topics include: arts, sciences, games, languages, woodworking, and music! Contact Margie Schwarz for more information!

KC District Assembly & Conventions
This year, the KCD Assembly & Conventions will take place on July 28-30 at Olathe College Church of the Nazarene. If you have been elected as a delegate and find that you are unable to serve, please contact the church office(816.942.9022 or mmorgan@kcfc.org) as soon as possible, so that an alternate may be contacted.

Nepal Response
In response to the recent earthquakes that have struck Nepal, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is partnering with the local church in Nepal to meet the most critical short-term needs of families in need: water, food, and shelter.
