Do One Thing for Those Suffering from Natural Disasters
- United Methodists have a highly effective way for helping others harmed by natural disasters called UMCOR, United Methodist Committee on Relief. This connectional church system alleviates suffering and provides urgent care for people around the world. Learn more about UMCOR.
- Prayer is a real way to help. Click here to send a prayer request to The Upper Room Living Prayer Center.
- Sending prayers to remind others of God’s love and care is essential. The Upper Room offers meditations and scripture passages in this downloadable prayer book. Here is another prayer from our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters.
- Making “flood buckets” to be used in the recovery efforts makes a difference. UMCOR offers instructions on how you, your family, and your church can create a flood bucket or cleaning kit.
- Sending money is always appreciated. Click here for links to send a donation through UMCOR.
- Ask you parents and your pastor for other suggestions for ways your faith can turn into action and bring God’s love to those in need.
