Pastors Day on Christian Practices for Thursday, 25 October 2018 from The Nazarene Theological Seminary Center for Pastoral Leadership in Kansas City, Missouri, United States
Dear alumni and friends,
You are invited to Pastors Day on November 6 as Dr. Rebecca Laird delivers the Heinmiller Lectures on Spiritual Formation.
This is Us: Becoming An “Altogether Christian” Community
John Wesley sought to distinguish between an “Almost” and “Altogether” Christian in a famous sermon preached in 1741. Centuries later, what Christian practices foster an “Altogether Christian” community that fosters our connections with God and each other in an time when church structures and forms are fluid and mobility a way of life?
Schedule:
11-12 Belonging and Boundaries – Respecting Vulnerability (Session will be live-streamed on the CPL Facebook Page)
12-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:30 Solitude and Service – Cultivating Rhythm
1:30-1:45 Break
1:45-3 Ritual and Repair – Tending Trespasses
Rebecca Laird is Professor of Christian Ministry and Practice at Point Loma Nazarene University where she teaches Christian formation, pastoral care, and preaching.
