Honoring Dr. Larry Lott from Carla Sunberg, NTS President of Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, United States for Monday, 27 July 2015
HONORING DR. LARRY LOTT

NTS President Carla Sunberg and the community of NTS are saddened by the news of the passing of Dr. Larry Lott (NTS Class of 1993), pastor of Blue Hills Community Church of the Nazarene, who passed away July 13.
In reflecting on Dr. Lott’s influence on NTS and the Church, Dr. Sunberg shared, “Dr. Lott was a great leader who helped to guide the Church of the Nazarene in numerous ways throughout his ministry. His connection with Nazarene Theological Seminary is one which reaches back to his days as a student. He has served NTS as a very faithful alum, including service as the NTS Alumni President, and a member of the Board of Trustees.
“The presence of Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene within the walls of the Seminary for a number of years was a real blessing. Dr. Lott and his congregation served as an incarnational presence within the Seminary and greater Southtown community. This reflection of Christ within our community was very real and appreciated by students, faculty and community members alike.
“The church grieves this loss together with Dr. Lott’s family and loved ones. His voice and influence will be dearly missed. We will keep Mrs. Lott, their children, and the Blue Hills church in our prayers in the days to come.”
