Soul Care New Every Morning "[On the contrary,] they are new every morning! How great your faithfulness!" Lamentations 3:23 for Tuesday, 14 July 2015 from The Global Church of the Nazarene's Office of Clergy Development in Lenexa, Kansas, United States

Good Morning, Ministry Partner:
Be Encouraged by God's Word:
The very night before Herod was going to bring him out, Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He tapped Peter on the side and woke him, saying, "Get up quickly." And the chains fell off his wrists. . . .Peter went out and followed him . . . they passed the first and second guard, they came before the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord, and they went outside and walked along a lane when suddenly the angel let him. Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me."[Acts 12:6-7, 9-11a, NRSV]
Wisdom from Fellow Pilgrims:
I have learned that faith means trusting in advance what will only make sense in reverse.[Philip Yancey]
Pray Together with Us:
How brief is our span of life compared with the time since you created the universe. How tiny we are compared with the enormity of your universe. How trivial are our concerns compared with the complexity of your universe. How stupid we are compared with the genius of your creation. Yet during every minute and every second of our lives you are present, within and around us. You give your whole and undivided attention to each and every one of us. Our concerns are your concerns. And you are infinitely patient with our stupidity. I thank you with all my heart-knowing that my thanks are worthless compared with your greatness.[Fulbert of Chartres]
