VIDEO: 10 years in Rwanda from Partners In Health in Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Ten years ago, Gary, Rwanda still reeled from civil war and genocide.
HIV ravaged the nation, child mortality took a devastating toll, and childbirth carried deadly risks. But today, the country offers a different picture.
Rates of child mortality have dropped by over two-thirds—as have deaths in pregnancy and childbirth. And 90% of the population has health coverage, for everything from simple vaccinations to HIV treatments.
For 10 years, with our supporters to thank, Partners In Health has helped the Ministry of Health achieve these big gains. To mark this anniversary, PIH Co-founder Ophelia Dahl reflected on a decade of work in Rwanda—and on all the remarkable changes she has witnessed.
Listen to Ophelia's reflections, and see the stunning strides we've helped make together:

Our work is ambitious, as it should be, because the needs are great.
We aim at nothing less than better health care for the most vulnerable—whether in Rwanda, Haiti, or anywhere else we work.
Thank you for supporting this crucial mission.
