This Wednesday evening (October 4), Jews throughout the world will begin the nine-day-long "festival of our joy," encompassing the festivals of Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We sit in the sukkah to celebrate the warm embrace of G-d's love and care for us, takethe four kinds to celebrate our unity as a people, and participate in the nightly simchat beit hashoevah festivities celebrating the power of song and dance — to transform ourselves and our world for the better.
