Greetings in the name of Jesus!
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
As I write this piece I am in a state of grief. I am in grief at the recent events that took place in Las Vegas. As I was watching the news and seeing the videos of the tragedy, I just wanted to cry.
In the midst of events like this I think we as Christians need to respond. I personally think we can respond in three specific ways.
1.) Pray – We can join our brothers and sisters from all over the world in praying for the lives and families affected by this tragedy. We can ask God to bring comfort and healing for every life that was caught in the midst of shooting.
2.) Share Hope – The world we live in is in desperate need of hope. As Christians, we have this hope and we need to share it with this hurting world. In the midst of sadness and sorrow, we know there is a day that is coming when there will be no more pain or suffering. We need to share the hope that we have in Christ.
3.) Shine Bright – As Christians, we need to make sure our light is shining bright. Everywhere we go, we need to bring hope and encouragement through our actions. Actions like helping those in need, giving to those in need and listening to those in need. This world is full of darkness. It seems like there is death, suffering, pain and hurt all over. Let’s shine bright everywhere we go!
4.) (From Gary Lee Parker) As Followers of Jesus, we can be His salt to scatter to actively seek non-violence in all areas of our lives.
