Gateway Church Family, Date: Thursday, 5 October 2017
Gateway’s own Antorres and Yared Coleman have been coming to our church for some time now. She is also in our MOPS program. Great family! Yared is from Puerto Rico and has family there. Recently Puerto Rico was hit hard by Hurricane Maria. This storm has destroyed many parts of the island. Yared has reached out to us wanting to send supplies to her family and their neighborhood to help them through this time.
Supplies Needed:
  • Maxi pads
  • Battery lanterns
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Batteries (AA, AAA, etc.)
  • Monetary donations for them to purchase water
We will ship these items to them directly. We’ll collect the needs throughout the week at church until Sunday Oct. 15 at 6pm. Monetary donations will be accepted to cover the shipping cost. People can put monetary donations in the offering plate and write “Puerto Rico” on the memo line of their checks.
***Our MOPS group will also be taking donations to support our sister in Christ! (Jennifer McDonald)
TEAM HAITI Mission Trip - The mission’s delegation that will be going to Haiti November 16th– 19th, is hosting an Avant Garde fundraising experience. The missions minded consortium will present an exclusive restaurant dining experience for your pleasures (and coin of the realm) on Saturday, October 21. They propose to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please sign up with Jennifer McDonald so we can prepare a plate for you. Everyone is welcome to come and dine with us! Food is free and
donations are accepted. The funds raised will go to the team's plane tickets!
This exciting event will be located in the Coffee House Café and in the Friendship class. Tables overlooking the water are still available.
MENU:
Breakfast- egg casserole bake, toast with jelly, and fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee
Lunch- chili with cornbread and toppings to please, tea and coffee
Dinner- Pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches, baked beans, corn on the cob, cookies and brownies
for dessert, with tea, lemonade and coffee
Restaurant Hours:
Breakfast will be served from 9:00- 10:30
Lunch served from 11:30- 2:00
Dinner served from 4:30- 7:30 (Jennifer McDonald)
Fall Fest / Harvest Fest- Gateway will once again present the world renown Fall Fest on Tuesday, October 31st and WE NEED YOUR HELP with candy donations, set up, bounce house shifts, dunk tank shifts, game booths, and clean up too. Look for sign ups in your Sunday School classes or on the sign-up wall over by the sanctuary. Candy donations can be dropped off outside the youth room, children’s area, or office lobby starting this Sunday, October 1st. Oh, one more thing “save this date on your calendar now.”

PASTOR APPRECIATION - We will be making announcements about “Pastor Appreciation Month” this Sunday so please look for them and pay attention. Maybe too strong but I am feeling very passionate right now. GS
Baby Shower – I don’t know what that is exactly but I’m sure it is very important so check the bulletin for better details. The Murrish family are good people (I looked into it) so be there on Sunday, October 15th at 3 PM in the Coffee House. You will be glad you did.
Medicare Seminar and more – Saturday, October 28th at 10 AM. I (Spinozzi), fully endorse Ninnette Jenson. She is very good and you will learn a lot. She will take good care of you and she is easy to work with. Check out the bulletin on Sunday.
