Because family caregivers are often giving their time for free or paying from their own pocketbook to help people, efforts are underway on both the federal and state levels to assist them with proposed tax benefits."

Powerful Tools For Caregivers

"The Granite Falls Living At Home/Block Nurse program is gearing up for a new round of caregiver classes. The class, Powerful Tools for Caregivers, is a six-week series starting Thursday, October 26 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Granite Falls Senior Center.
Participants will learn ways to reduce stress and effectively communicate with other family members, medical staff, and paid help. Specifically, the program is designed to help caregivers minimize common emotional problems associated with caregiving, such as guilt, anger, and depression. Classes will also teach participants how to problem solve and make tough decisions."
