Dear St. James Family,
Last Sunday, October 8, 2017 the Forty Acres Team hosted the Emanuel Cleaver II Senior Living Community Site Dedication at the campus.
While there were a number of invited guests, we underestimated the number of church family members who would also attend the event. We ordered a tent with a limited number of seats. Additional chairs, which were placed outside the tent, were available to accommodate seating in the event we had a larger than anticipated crowd.
Upon arrival to the campus, some of our church members were directed to seating outside of the tent area. And, it is my understanding, some chose to leave the event because of that. After learning of the departures, I immediately asked the team to reserve two rows for seating our guests and open the rest of the seating for our church family and friends. At no time did I or the committee members intend to disrespect our church family.
Your loyal support of the Forty Acres Campus Team over the many years is appreciated and will be needed as we move forward. The event was a great success with the exception of this unfortunate situation, which I regret.
As the leader for the Forty Acres Committee, I take full responsibility for this unfortunate situation and apologize to all for my lapse in judgment. I hope you will accept this sincere apology and continue to support the Campus team.
Sincerely,
Samuel Coleman, Sr.
Director of Campus Development
